Canberra Stomp Festival 20-21 April 2024

The Canberra Wine District’s annual Stomp Festival celebrates Harvest across the Canberra District with exclusive wine releases, live music, art, long lunches, behind-the-scenes tours, barrel room tastings, back vintages, demonstrations, chocolates, vineyard picnics, challenges, games and plenty of prizes.

Saturday 20 April
Join the team from Four Winds Vineyard for their exclusive Winery Tour, Woodfired Pizza and Wine event led by winemaker John Collingwood from 10.30am-11.30am. Immerse yourself in a 60-minute journey through the vineyard and winery facilities and learn how winemakers go from grape to glass. Your ticket includes a wood-fired pizza and a glass of wine to enjoy at the Murrumbateman cellar door at your leisure. $45 per person.

Try Life Drawing at Lerida at Lerida Estate Wines!  This event from 12.00pm-2.00pm is perfect for you to hone your skills and get creative. The talented model will strike various poses for you to capture on paper, with all materials provided, along with a glass of wine and individual cheese and charcuterie boxes, to help bring out your artistic flair! $91.31 per person.

Enjoy a Mount Majura Vineyard Long Lunch at the Truffle Farm from 12.30pm in a luxury barn at the The Truffle Farm, set amongst a forest of 8,000 oak and hazelnut trees. Begin with canapes and then a three-course meal prepared by Executive Chef Kanharith Kim, paired with Mount Majura Vineyard wines. Please note: while it is not yet truffle season, there will be some truffle products in some of the dishes. $195 per person.

Explore New Wine Flight Fun at Sapling Yard where you'll try five of their newest wines 
2023's Pirouette Chardonnay, Viognier (Cellar Door wine only), Four Pinots, Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir/Gamay, paired to delicious canapes by Scrumpers Kitchen. Afterwards, grab a bottle of your favourite wine and a cheese and charcuterie platter and enjoy the crisp autumn night air from 4.00pm-6.30pm. $45 per person.

Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April
Come and stomp by Capital Wines between 11.30am-3.00pm both days, and enjoy a beef spit roast roll with caramelised onions, beef jus and mustard accompanied with a glass of our Leader of the House Shiraz Viognier. $10 per person.

In the Chocolate and Wine Tasting by Dionysus Winery, you choose (so hard!) whether to pair a flight of four wines with an array of chocolates or cheese, for $20 per person. And if you have kids under 18, they can try three flavoured milks matched with chocolate for $10 per child. Book your choice of tastings between 11.00am-4.00pm both days.

At Gundog Estate Food & Wine Flights at Cork Street Cellar you'll enjoy a stunning two course gourmet lunch from 12.00pm-2.30pm both days, prepared by Grazing Restaurant, served with your choice of a Semillon or Shiraz wine flight. Each flight includes four award winning wines plus you'll receive 15% off wine purchases on the day, and a free Gundog Estate tote bag. $50 per person.

Explore a Barrel to Bottle Tasting at The Vintner's Daughter from 4.00pm-5.30pm both days. Winemaker Stephanie Helm will lead you on a private tasting of their current range and Shiraz & Riesling wine styles back to their first vintage in 2015. Learn about the step by step winemaking process and the effect of climate conditions on the final wine. Taste unreleased wine straight from the barrel. $75 per person.

Sunday 21 April
BYO towel for the Long Lunch at Grape Stomp! at Lake George Winery from 11.00am-3.00pm. Your long lunch includes a Kingfish Kokoda entree, with a glass of LGW Sparkling 2019, a two-prong lamb rack with a glass of LGW Weereewaa Red 2023 and a Lake George Eton Mess enhanced by a glass of LGW Mistelle fortified. Plus you'll receive 10% off when you buy 1-5 bottles, or 15% off for six or more bottles on 21 April 2024. And you'll get to stomp grapes! $89 per person. 

At Le Nez du Vin (The Nose of Wine) at Shaw Wines cellar door from 2.00-4.00pm, you'll learn about the many aromas found in wine. Held in their downstairs private cellar, this class is designed with everyone in mind, from beginners to wine enthusiasts. A wine tasting of 6 wines is included. Tickets: $65 per person, limited to 16 people.
