Today, being the 1st of March is the official start of autumn which coincides with the wonderful wine harvest festivals over the next few months.
What better way to celebrate the stunning autumn colours of the season than a visit to Mount Lofty Botanic Garden where the russetty colours of the changing trees create stunning landscapes.
The gorgeous orange autumnal colours are best viewed around the Main Lake and duck pond - why not pack a picnic? It’s a very popular time of year with visitors and you may want to come during the week, if you can, rather than weekends when it can be very busy.
If you're quick, you can book a Wellness Wander: Nature Journalling class 10.30am-1.30pm on Saturday 1 April with horticultural therapist, Emma Llewellyn.
The workshop delves into the purpose of writing as a mindful practice, the context of environment and climate, and the ways that observations and mindfulness can be recorded and includes a meditative walk around the peaceful, beautiful garden for participants before morning or afternoon tea. The second half of the workshop focuses on the applied and personal practice of nature journaling.
